The most natural option we have available when looking to add hairs to your brows is microblading. Using a series of needles that act as a blade, each stroke is manually placed within the previously established shape. My goal is to always make sure the strokes I’m creating look totally natural with the hairs that already exist in the space. Unfortunately, not all skin types take well to microblading. Make sure you fill out the digital consultation to see if you should get microblading, shading, or a combination. Following up with a close-up photo is also helpful.

You’ll need a perfection appointment 5-8 weeks after your initial appointment. Color boost touchups are done annually every 9-18 months.

Unfortunately, microblading doesn’t take perfectly to everyone’s skin type. If you’re one of those people, nanobrows may be the best route for you! Using a single needle machine, brow hair strokes are built up using pixels gently deposited into your skin. It’s a far more gentle procedure than microblading, but may not heal as crisp (skin types that don’t work well with microblading don’t heal crisp anyways). The results can look similar to that of microblading + shading.

Powder brows, micropigmentation, shadowing. This procedure goes by many names, but I prefer to call it “shading” due to the way in which I use it. I love to use shading to create an illusion of shadow in a brow that is full in one spot, but bare in another, allowing a more even look throughout. I love to use this tool to draw up shadows along microbladed strokes, thus creating depth. Shading can be used to create an illusion of fuller brows on someone who already has a full brow shape, but may lacking on the hair-growth. It’s accomplished by using a machine with a single needle to create, build up, and blend pixels in a fairly gentle way. Shading works on pretty much all skin types, so blending it with microblading could be an option for you. If you’re looking for a sharp, bold, fully makeup look, that is more of a “powder brow.” Full disclosure though, I love to create the illusion of totally natural brows, and therefore it’s simply not in my practice to create brows that look like they have makeup on all the time.

Using the same machine as shading and nanobrows, but a cluster of three needles rather than a single guy, freckles are pretty much the cutest. Want to look like you’ve been soaking up that vitamin D even though you haven’t actually left the house in months? Freckles. Got the brows done and want to frame your eyes even more? Freckles. Choosing freckle placement is truly an art form. You want to frame your face, hit the sun spots, and still not look like you drew Raggedy Ann freckles on your cheeks. I can even make a freckle look like a tiny little heart if that’s your vibe.

If you are one of those blessed humans who can still grow brow hair, this is the best way to fluff ‘em up. Lamination is essentially a perm for the brows, allowing the hairs to relax and giving you control of their direction. It’s a great way to make your brows appear fuller. Also, pulling the direction of growth away from the eye can open up and soften your expression.

This procedure typically lasts around six weeks and can be redone every eight weeks.
